Folsom Cyclebration Moutain Bike Events

The NEW cross country course will start at the Folsom Rodeo grounds, use the "lower levee" trails and work it's way over (For the first time ever) to the south area of Folsom Prison and then return through the Folsom City Zoo! This is a one of a kind, once a year race course.

You will find the course fun, fast and hilly with twisty single track, fire and levee roads, old flume and cow trails. Approx 450 feet of climbing per lap.

The full course map is HERE. (map was updated on 8/27/10) Remember the race day course can always change due to trail or weather conditions.

The Expert split has been confirmed. This will be a highly technical single track area below the levee road.

The Beginner Juniors course is 1.4 miles per lap X 2 laps = 2.8 miles.

NOTICE!!! Please do not illegally ride on the Prison property prior to the practice day or race day. You will be stopped by the prison guards who patrol the area regularly. This is a secured state prison area open only to us for the race and practice days. Please do not jeopardize our use of this venue!

This is the one chance a year that you will get to ride on the prison and zoo property!

Beginners 13 and under will do 2 short laps = 2.8 miles.

Beginners will do 2 laps = 10 miles.

Sport will do 3 laps = 15 miles.

Expert will do 4 laps = 20 miles.

Practice - Saturday September 11
Open practice from 10am until 2pm. Only registered riders may be on the prison and zoo parts of the course! Please stay off the Rodeo grounds part of the course - it will be in use by the Cyclocrossers!

If you are going to pre-ride the course you will need to check in at our booth and get your number plate and chip FIRST. We will be located at the Cyclebration Festival area behind the beer garden. If you have already checked in at the Time Trial (Friday afternoon at the TT finish area) remember to bring your number plate!

Notes about practice day: You will only be able to ride the Prison, Zoo and Expert split sections of the course on Saturday. The Rodeo area will be in use by the Cyclocross races and Cyclebration festival so you will not be able to pre-ride that portion until Sunday morning. You can enter course at the Expert split area or behind "Sherwood Forest".

SORRY! NO spectators on Prison property or Zoo trails... try inside the Zoo or Rodeo arena for great race viewing!

Race - Sunday, September 12
Be sure you check in FIRST. 8am practice, 9:00am start time. Classes will go off in waves.

First start 9:00 am. Class starts will be in waves at approx 30 second intervals, class starts may be combined, but scored separately.

Start Location: Folsom Rodeo grounds West of Natoma and Stafford streets in Folsom, CA (Near the Folsom City Zoo!) Registration opens at 7:30am. Walk up race day registration add $10.
